Jane clung to the top of the horse’s neck with her hands and squeezed with her legs. this things nuts! Jane screamed inside her head, the words echoing around her skull. The shifter all of a sudden had just lunched itself out of the water and was now doing it’s best to send Jane flying to her death. thought if you had somebody hanging off your neck and trying to poke your eyes out, you’d do about the same WHOA she screamed, as one large buck sent her spinning around to face the shifter, Afternoon Jane said and head butted the horse.

That's the last straw! Her head butt didn't hurt much, or at least not that I noticed. I was too busy ignoring the pain in my shoulder and now a slight throbbing in my nose. I had enough. Since her head was right by my muzzle I tried to take a chunk out of her face. Then I threw my head up and started to gallop. It was much easier now that she was off the top of my neck. I made my strides higher than normal, trying my best to hit her with flying hooves. I didn't care if I killed her, I didn't even care if she got hurt, I was hurt anyway. I didn't even care if I let her get away! I just wanted to get away! Having a horse made as hell at you wasn't a good thing. Having a horse tired, wet, cold, sore, and cut, already having a serious temper as I did, was an entirely different matter. It was the infinity amount of numbers worse and I had reached that level. I was burning mad and just wanted to get away! Get off of me! Get off of me! My stride lengthened and reached higher and my eyes blazed. Go to heck for all I care just let me go!

Jane blinked ok so that wasn’t worth it she mumbled. And then the shifter went nuts, Jane might have thought it was speeding over the horizon of insanity before, now, going to 4th gear the crazy beast was smashing the speed limit to pieces. And then it tried to bit her face. Her head still spinning from head butting the horse Jane’s reflexes were slower than normal and it was all she could do not to get her face bitten off. Jane moved her head, just in time for the horse not to get her face, but not in time for it to miss her ear. The bite took a chunk out of the very bottom of the ear, Jane began to swear loudly and with growing anger, brought on by pain. And her back was begging to hurt too, it was like the horse was giving her a very over enthusiastic massage. new plan Swinging her body one way and then the other Jane turned herself into a play ground swing, the more the horse bucked the more violent Jane’s swings became. Back, forth, back, forth, back, forth

Insane lady started swinging back and forth like a swing in the breeze. I merely started to move to the tempo, only helping me to move faster. It never changed so far. Every now and then I reached especially high. Your only hurting yourself lady. You know I could shift back into a human, becoming smaller and then slipping out of her grip. Nah, with my luck she'd catch me by the foot before I was half shifted. We'll give that one a try after a while. The world flew by and I would actually enjoy this if it wasn't for the constant swinging of my neck. I had seen stallions swing their heads like this at their mares but not as long as I was doing it. Time for another idea. I'll let the ground do its work. I bellied down, as humans would have called it, bringing my neck low to the ground and lengthening my stride yet more. This was a much more comfortable position to run. Soon I would feel that bump...bump ..bump of a human body brushing the ground, if my neck was low enough. Besides with my neck stretched out and my stride lengthened even more I was probably hitting a bit more uncomfortable spot on the cop...the spanking of a life time! I would have tossed my head but I was a bit busy right now. If this didn't work, I had and alternative too.

Jane was grinning maybe the plan was nope not working Getting a better grip, Jane hung on tight, she’s not gonna throw me off! she thought fiercely. And then her lower body was smacking into the ground, OUCH! she yelled, and then it smacked into the ground again what on earth is that horse doing up there! The thing had ignored her plan and was now trying to grind her into the ground below! And then Jane had another idea, she let go and rolled herself under the horse’s hooves. Splaying herself out so she was bigger to trip over and trying to grab legs so that the horse would have a harder time just jumping over her and continuing on its way.

She's off! She's off! But my celebration was short lived and I realized she was trying to trip me. I prepared myself to jump and almost made it before that lady grabbed my hind hoof. I yanked it back of course, while I stumbled for a split second and half falling. I caught myself quickly and felt even sorrier for the the racehorses who stumble out of the gate. It was not a good feeling. Good bye insane one! I nickered back gleefully, half rearing with triumph before galloping off in search of a better place to cross the river and get back to town. From there I would stick to the shadows and lay low before laying even lower in the wilderness that surrounded Clearstone. Continuing to gallop at the pace I was going I would use what was left of my energy up. I slowed only slightly and letting the weariness finally seep into my body. I ached just about everywhere and that cut on my shoulder hurt worse than ever. Open, close, open, close, it was almost like a painful rhythm that I was sure was similar to the hoofbeats that were fading away. This was not the last time we would meet. No indeed.

Jane pulled herself into a sitting position and then tried to pull herself into a standing position to go after the horse. All she managed to do was end up lying on the ground again. ok, so I’m not going after her right now she thought. After taking some deep breaths Jane finally managed to stand up, brushing herself off Jane smiled Well that went well, except for losing my shoes and knife she said to one of the trees but easy come easy go Looking down at her bare feet and then up at the surrounding forest Jane crossed her arms, ok, one question she said allowed, turning in a circle how do I get back to the mall? The trees it seemed weren’t going to give up the answer easily, so she limped off in the opposite direction of the shifter, Jane might be crazy but she didn’t have a death wish.
