Simon took a bite out of his apple pie, he let the delicious fruit dribble around his mouth and tried very hard to ignore the feeling that really he should be eating raw stake. yep no need for raw stake here he thought viciously to himself. Just because he was some weird tiger thing now didn’t mean he had to stop likening stuff, like apple pie. Looking out the window he watched the population of the town walk by. well that have good apple pie he thought that’s a good sign! Simon had only just moved into the town and he had no job, no house as of yet and no clue, so anything being good was well good.

Anna Marie Talbet
Anna strode down the street, she tucked a stray brunette strand of hair behind her ear. Today, there wasn't any work, which was always a good thing. The air was a little chilly, but the sun was full out and it truly seemed a glorious day. The smell of coffee and food wafted on the breeze toward Anna as she passed the cafe. Hesitating she stood in front of the store and pulled her sweater tighter around her. Ah, no harm in going to get some breakfast. Anna pushed through the double doors of the cafe and stepped into the friendly warmth it had come to accommodate. As she waited, she spotted a young man eating some sort of pie. It was obvious he wasn't from Clearstone because Anna had never seen him before. It wasn't that hard to recognize, after all- Clearstone has never been a big place. Anna took it upon herself to welcome him and introduce herself. Quietly, she walked forward- passing all of the booths and counters. Once she got to his table she slid into the seat across from him with a friendly smile.
"Hey, I'm Anna. I just wanted to say: Welcome to Clearstone."

GAHH! Simon nearly spilled his pie all the way down his shirt, then he looked up oh, err, Hi Anne he managed a little embarrassed at having being surprised Thank you? he ventured and then with a start, Simon remembered his manners. I’m Simon he said whipping his hand on a napkin and holding it out for Anne to shake Nice to meet you he paused well I’m sure it will be, err…yeah Simon looked back down at his apple pie and took a bite. Come on Simon he thought make conversation, you can do it He looked around nervously what, what are you going to have? To eat I mean? He asked, smiling nervously.

Anna Marie Talbet
Anna was startled, she hadn't meant to surprise the older man. She gave him an apologetic smile as he recovered from the shock. It seemed that Simon wasn't used to much conversation or something; the way he stuttered and seemed almost uncomfortable confirmed that. Nodding she took his hand, her small cold one resting in his own. Giving him a reassuring grin she took her hand away and settled it in her lap.
"Nice to meet you too Simon."
Instead of making him feel more uncomfortable by watching him eat his pie, Anna looked around the Bistro. Things hadn't changed here, they barely ever did. So Anna knew what she was going to get for Breakfast. Simon seemed nervous, and Anna instantly felt bad. Maybe she shouldn't have come along and surprised him like that. Usually Anna was good with people, which made her feel even worse about it. Oh well, it had happened, so there was no changing it now. A waitress walked over, ready to take Anna's order.
"I'll have the buttermilk pancakes, please."
Anna ordered with a gracious smile. Anna was all about politeness. She turned back to Simon, but didn't look at him directly, for fear of making him more nervous.

Simon looked at the lady with concern; she wasn’t looking at him, not rudely just by the way her eyes slid politely to one side when their scan of the room came in his direction. oh gods! he moaned inside his own head Either I’ve made her feel bad for sitting down here or he looked hopefully down at his shirt I’ve spilt pie down the front of my shirt! Dang No such luck Simon hadn’t meant to make her feel bad; he was just a bit preoccupied at the moment; all the new smells, colors and sounds. No I really mean it! he said putting enthusiasm into his voice Thanks for welcoming me! I was feeling a bit lost, but now you’ve come along I can dig you for information on my new home He tried to look her in the eye the whole time he said it, with a big smile on his face.

Anna looked back at Simon, just a fleeting glance. It was enough to see him looking down at his shirt and looking disappointed. She almost raised an eyebrow, but that wouldn't do so she waited through the silence, thinking quietly to herself. Simon's voice snapped her back out of her thoughts as he reassured her that he really was grateful that she had come and welcomed him. She brightened up a little, she hated feeling as if she had been more of a hindrance than a help.
"Thanks, sorry I was being a little too sensitive. I prefer to help more than be an annoyance."
She told him sheepishly, a small smile on her face.
"So how'd you end up here?"

Simons smile froze well of coarse this was going to come up you dolt! he berated himself now think quick He took a bite of his apple pie to give himself a two second think off. Well until about a month ago I was still living with my parents he explained after to swallowing his bit of pie And considering that I’m 26 this year that’s kind of pathetic He laughed So I decided that it was time to stop living off my parents and go and do something on my own He reached and cut another piece of pie Sad, huh?
