Simon stared at her, his eyes wide and blinking like those of rabbit caught in the headlights of an on coming road train. Ash's words, that both of living by herself and the hatred of her parents for what they wished her to be had just pushed his reeling mind off the provable cliff.
well we all saw that one coming
He leaned his head between his knees and held it there, he was beginning to think that the world was far beyond him and that maybe it would be better for everybody if he hid under a rock for the next eleven years.
well can i get points for trying? he mumbled, meeting her brown eyes with his own off coffee colored ones and as for a thrashing, your sixteen, other than kicking my head in with your hoof what can you really do? he asked,but his tone was that of one who knows they've lost and is just poking the scab now out of spite.
and He only knows how to ask stupid questions the inner voice added, dancing around in his head, whispering words only he could hear. |

Ashleigh ~This is my brand new day in the light, troubles rising up on the left and the right. I keep my eyes fixed on where I want to go; the rest will follow.~ "No. You don't." I replied flatly. Obviously, I had overloaded his mind with what I had said. He meet my eyes and I worked on making him look away with staring boldly back. "Oh, you would be surprised. There's a whole lot of other things I could do with my hooves before bashing your head in. Think about it." I cocked my head to one side slightly. His tone was defeated and now all he was doing was trying to get under my skin. I would have laughed again, if I didn't want to hear the sound of something coming through the bush. The sound quickly faded away and I relaxed my tense muscles, not knowing they had been tense in the first place. I lifted my head and scented the air, it had been a badger. No big deal.
