The Whole World's Scared S o I s w a l l o w t h e F e a r
The night was warm and empty. As empty as the world around the dark Shifter. Nothing seemed to move, make a sound, dare to live. Everyday had seemed empty to young Jisa since Anya had come home with news of Ace and her mother, Stella. Living a lie. It was truly horrible. Jisa had been stupid to even try to cooperate with the EF. They had gone and killed her friends anyway. That was unforgivable. But still, they had their stranglehold; as long as Anya and Ash were alive, Jisa couldn't backstab them. God. Yeah, that was screwed up. No matter, it was what it was.
The full moon glowed brightly down at the world, casting a bone white ghostly chill on the little town. It radiated in Jisa;s unevenly cut hair as she prowled the streets, just as stealthy as a panther. Not that it was surprising in any way. Her carribean blue eyes glinted in the harsh light. Silence.
All it was, was silence.

The soft crunching of foot fall, barely hearable over the wind, sounded in Nadi's ears. She quickly pulled her head out of her cupped hands and stood up straight. Part of the wall that Nadi had been leaning on, lost in thought, crumbled as she moved. The peice of plaster hit the ground and sounded like a gun shot in the silence. Nadi flinched as the noise cracked through the air. She glanced hurriedly around, her eyes finally landing on Jisa. Nadi's eyes narrowed to a glare and she leaned back on the wall, unimpressed. 'What on earths wrong with me,' Nadi thought angrily to herself. 'I'm all on edge.' She decided to ignore this new disturbance. 'Act like she's not there and maybe she'll take a hint and leave me alone,' Nadi mussed to herself.

Of course, silence doesn't last forever. That was definitely proved as the sound of crumbling stone hit the ground with an earsplitting crack. The noise resounded around the empty streets as Jisa froze. Her icy blue eyes darted through the shadow filled darkness for the source of the sound. Of course, it's easier said than done. An uncomfortable silence set the Shifter on edge. Oh for god's sake. Jisa thought to herself. If some EF cop decides to jump out at me now... Her thought voice growled. Suddenly, her eyes caught the figure, standing frozen and staring straight at her. Slowly, Jisa straightened and levelled her gaze at the 'intruder'. Not that this was her town or anything, but it might as well be. Silence.
No frickin' way.
"Hey, you."
Jisa's icy voice called her out, with authority only an arrogant nineteen year old supernatural hunter could manage.

Nadi watched as Jisa caught site of her. Amusingly this person seemed about as happy to see another person as Nadi herself was. As the other Shifter spoke Nadi slowly closed her eyes then opened them. Still there. And now Nadi would have to respond. Brilliant. Well if anything this could lead to a fight. Nadi hadn't been in a proper fight for ages. Jisa looked opposing at least. Nadi flexed her figures and nearly shifted right there. She caught herself, and scolded herself silently. "What?" Nadi answered curtly. Nadi remained relaxed against the wall defiantly. 'Try not to get in a fight again,' Nadi heard the ecos of past sneers in her ears.

Jisa rased an eyebrow at the other person. The space between them seemed a far, yet close. All there was, was a street between them. A cross breeze blew the scent of the other, younger girl towards Jisa. Shifter. Oh right. So this meant that the panther Shifter was supposed to kill her now? Okay. Well...
Not. Going. To. Happen.
That was the issue with having alliances everywhere and nowhere at once. Enemies were so much easier to handle. Honestly. Jisa stood, all six feet two of her stretching up. The other girl looked ready to fight. Well who'd blame her? Certaintly not the one that kills for a living. The nineteen year old's eyes started to shift from blue to gold. Of course, the opposing girl stopped herself before Jisa could even reach a half shift. Right.
Okay so, it might not have been a good idea to call the girl out like that. There wasn't anything to say anyway. The uncomfortable silence grew.
"You probably shouldn't be wandering here out night. It's... dangerous."

Nadi decided to let the silence drag on at first. This stupid... Wait was she a Shifter? She was. Shit. And she looks like a Shifter used to fights. 'Whhhhy do I always pick the worst people,' said something in the back of Nadi's brain. Well Nadi wasn't backing out of this now. Hold the silence... The other Shifter broke it. Words of caution. Nadi had to bite her tongue to stop herself laughing. A battle worn Shifter giving advice. This was stupid, but play it nicely. "I know," Nadi let her lips curve into a small grin and couldn't help but add. "Shifter."

Okay, well, see, this silence was really awkward. In fact, Jisa was ready to just back down and go away. Of course, the will to be stubborn and win this stare off was too strong. God damn it. Jisa saw the other Shifter's momentary double take; that gained a small victory smirk from the older Shifter. Oh man. Having a stare down with a younger shifter. That's what the world had come to.
Ah, well.
So, this other girl was being awfully difficult. She definitely was not helping this awkward tensioned conversation any now was she? And why did Jisa get the feeling that that was how it was supposed to be? The shorter girl mentioned something that made Jisa tilt her head. Her black hair trailed away from her shoulders and to the side.
"Oh, smart girl."
Jisa teased, deciding that she might actually like this person. Maybe. Possibly. Cue the mental shrug.
"Well, if you know so much, then why are you out here at night, trying to crush buildings or something?"

Nadi intensified her glare. 'Smart girl am I,' Nadi thought angrily. Before she could formulate a 'smart' response the other spoke again. Nadi debated about just letting a silence drag on. Nah. This was stupid... But she wasn't about to trust some Shifter she had just meet. Maybe over time... 'No. No trusting,' Nadi told herself. 'Remember last time.' Sometimes being alone sucked. I mean really, so out of practice at responding with snappy answers. Why did this person want to know anyway. Trying to sound cold Nadi said, "How about a trade. Tell me what you're doing out here and I'll tell you what I'm doing."

Talk about annoying. That was this conversations whole point. Actually, it was tiresome. Very, very tiresome. Neither super naturals seemed willing to talk, which would be okay... if this wasn't so darn awkward. What was this with trades all of a sudden? Everyone wanted something in exchange for something else. Of course, Jisa was one to talk with trading her own life to save her friends... that hadn't turned out well either. Jisa turned her cold eyes into the other Shifter's.
"I'm here because I have a job to do, actually, I'm deciding whether to do it. Of course, it depends on how much you piss me off."

Nadi paused for a moment. The way that Shifter had spoken put her on edge. Danger. Was the one word running through her head. 'Back of now! Don't be stupid...' part of her said. But of course, Nadi didn't pay attention to that part. Instead she listened to the other part of her, which was screaming in defense. So of course Nadi responded fiercely. "You must be really wanting to just kill me now then." Nadi couldn't help but give a small smile. As much as she denied in, this was kind of fun. But better watch for a response. If this Shifter really was going to kill her... Ergh. 'Better pay attention and watch were I step...' she thought.

Really? This was stupid. Of course this Shifter wouldn't answer. Of course she would just tease back. Of course you shouldn't trust the word of a random supernatural. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Not that it hurt anyone but you know what? Jisa was tired. Mentally. Maybe. Sure. Delirious perhaps. It really is hard living like a Supernatural by day and living like a Hunter by night. It's draining, actually.
Okay. Calm.
With a soft sigh, Jisa shrugged and shook her head. Alright... She thought to herself sourly, glaring at the other girl. You win.
"Weirdly, no. Actually I'm sick of killing."

Nadi eyes got wider. Awww shiiiit. She was a murderer! But she wasn't going to kill her... Okay then. "Ah. Good for me I'm guessing." Nadi felt a shiver, but stopped it. She wasn't about to appear scared. "I guess you still want to know what I'm doing then." Although Nadi didn't want to say she had made a deal. Why on earth was she deciding to be all honest and crap now. Oh yeah. Cause she didn't want to end up dead, even if this Shifter was telling the truth... It could hurt. Yeah... It could. What ever. "Oh, by the way. I'm Nadi."

The Whole World's Scared S o I s w a l l o w t h e F e a r
Jisa couldn’t help but let her radiant smile spread across her face as the other Shifter’s eyes widened. Threats, they always worked. It never did hurt to scare the newcomers a little now did it? Nothing a good warning couldn’t do. Especially in these parts. Such a boring little town.
Ha. You wish.
The shorter super natural seemed to smarten up right after that, providing her name and cooperating. That, my friends, is the food chain at work. You wanna get people to go your way? Gotta be strong and willing to step down… sometimes. Enough with the arrogance for now.
”Probably good for you.”
Jisa half laughed, a sort of dry, almost harsh sound. Okay, so laughing isn’t quite her thing. It takes practice! Nadi’s quick offering of what she was doing really didn’t interest Jisa anymore. She shrugged, looking a little more… casual.
”Nah, not really. I’m just going to guess that you were here for no apparent reason other than you wanted to. That’s usually how it goes with our kind.”
It was that simple. No one around had much to do anyway- other than running for their lives, but that got old pretty soon and it didn’t happen that much.
Okay, correction. It happened a lot.
Jisa smiled at the girl- Nadi. She had to wonder how such a tough looking, but pretty, girl had ended up here. This hell hole of a town. Not in the literal sense at all. Ehem. Jisa brushed back some of her wind blown hair, it did get a little annoying at this length.
“I’m Jisa. The welcoming committee, I suppose. I always end up being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.”
That could have split meanings. Sure, she was always in the wrong place when it came to fights and threats, but also, Jisa had been picking up a lot of… younger ’siblings’ to take care of. God.
”So now, I guess I’m used to you reckless runts.”
She teased, thinking of Anya and Ash… and Ace. What was with the A’s? Jisa threw Nadi a sassy smirk, to show she was half kidding.

Nadi told herself to relax as Jisa spoke again. Mh, it was a good thing she hadn't morphed and attacked, she would have been dead. Nadi brought her thoughts back to the present in time to answer Jisa as she spoke of why Nadi was there. She shrugged. "I guess you could say that," she muttered. Nadi watched Jisa's hand carefully as she brought it up... And flicked away her hair. Urgh, Nadi needed to calm down. This was so stupid, why was she being so jumpy. "Welcoming Committee," Nadi snorted. "Sounds like such a nice place." She trailed off, "Nicer than some..." The wind brought new cool air dancing across Nadi's arms and she relaxed. It was so stupid to be scared. "But reckless runts can still be pretty annoying I'm guessing."

Jisa laughed again, dry and shortly. She shook her head, her hair swirling around her shoulders with the small movement. This was a pretty town, an unassuming one, but it was nothing nice. It only benefitted those who were ignorant… and very much human. Not so much for the supernaturals, ignorant or not.
”Well, it’s pretty but it’s anything but nice.”
Jisa smiled at Nadi’s comments about runts like her being a little annoying. They were. Especially because they were taking away from the whole intimidating thing that Jisa had going on. That, and…
”They wouldn’t be half as annoying if they didn’t almost get me killed multiple times or bring bad news of the worst kind.”
